Thai entrepreneurs urged to get ready for the launch of ASEAN Economic Community

BANGKOK, 22 February 2010 (NNT) – Thai entrepreneurs are urged to get ready for the upcoming trade and investment opportunities by the launch of ASEAN Economic Community.

Trade Negotiation Department’s Director-General, Nantawan Sakuntanak, urged Thai investors to study the establishment of the ASEAN Economic Community. Also, an awearness over the Free Trade Area expansion would enable them to apply new investment strategies to their business and to seek new opportunities from regional tax reduction.

Ms Nantawan further elaborated that the grouping of ASEAN Economic Community by 2015 would enable Thailand’s SMEs to penetrate the bigger markets amid reduction in cost and other expenses. She viewed that the food, automotive, electronic, tourism and service provider industries would benefit the most by the launch. These entrepreneurs, thus, need to study the opportunities to reduce obstacles in trade and investment.
