BANGKOK, 14 January 2010 (NNT) – Deputy Prime Minister for Security Affairs Suthep Thaugsuban has dismissed any speculated political hidden agenda upon the visit of Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva to Privy Council President General Prem Tinsulanonda.
Mr Suthep stated that he actually did not know much about the visit of the prime minister to General Prem’s Si Sao Thewet Mansion on Wednesday night. He believed that the prime minister just went there to inform the privy council president of some situations in the country, and ask General Prem for administrative suggestions.
The deputy prime minister then played down all the speculations regarding the visit following the rumors that the visit was to send signals of a potential house dissolution.
Regarding movements of the anti-government United Front of Democracy Against Dictatorship against General Prem, Mr Suthep said he believed that they would not lead to any changes in the country as the government would monitor the situation closely, especially the upcoming hearing for the 76-billion-THB asset seizure case of deposed Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra.
