PM arrives Switzerland for World Economic Forum

BANGKOK, 29 January 2010 (NNT) – Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva arrived at Zurich International Airport in Switzerland to participate in the 40th World Economic Forum.

The specially-arranged plane carrying Mr Abhisit, Minister of Foreign Affairs Kasit Piromya, Deputy Commerce Minister, Alongkorn Pollabutr, Deputy Prime Minister Korbsak Sapavasu, Deputy Secretary-General to the Prime Minister Panithan Watanayakorn and President of the Thailand Trade Representative Kiat Sittheeamorn officially landed at Zurich International Airport in Switzerland at 6.45 (local time).

Upon his arrival, the PM’s first mission is to meet Klaus Schwab Founder and Executive Chairperson of the World Economic Forum before joining a gala dinner, specially set up for the attendees. He is set to give an address on the topic of food security and measures for ridding corruption in collaboration with Mexico. He is also slotted to give an interview with foreign news reporters.

Further, Mr Abhisit will also meet with many important global figures such as the Duke of York, the President of the Swiss Confederation, the Swiss Economy Minister, the President of Belgium and the Director of World Trade Organization (WTO).
