BANGKOK, 5 July 2009 (NNT) – The 11th National Economic and Social Development Plan would focus on the improvement of agriculture, tourism and industry, according to Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva.
On his weekly talk show “Confidence in Thailand with Prime Minister Abhisit”, Mr. Abhisit pointed out that an organization ranking the potential of countries in terms of global competitiveness had lifted up the rank of Thailand from 27 to 26. Despite the better rank of the country in terms of global competitiveness, he believed that Thailand and its citizens had more potential to lift the nation’s rank higher.
The Prime Minister indicated that the 11th National Economic and Social Development Plan which would be drafted as of next week would put an emphasis on the development of agriculture, tourism and industry. He added that the plan would include the improvement of intellectual properties protection and the promotion of research on ways to add value to products.
