Gold price in New York market closed lower today due to the appreciation of the US dollar currency, which forces the investors to ditch the US dollar off on speculation.

Commodity Exchange (COMEX)’s gold futures contracts for December delivery closed at US$945.80 per ounce, down 20 cents after trading in the range of US$941.20-951.70.

Silver futures contracts for September delivery closed at US$14.255 per ounce, down 5.50 cents, and copper futures contracts for December delivery closed at US$2.8770 per pound.

Platinum futures contracts for October delivery closed at US$1,238.40 per ounce, down 9.40 cents and palladium futures contracts for September delivery closed at US$285.90 per ounce, down US$2.90
