PM to join APEC CEO Summit in November

BANGKOK, 7 September 2009 (NNT) – Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva will attend the APEC CEO Summit in Singapore during 12 to 14 November 2009.

During his speech on ASEAN’s role in the Asia Pacific Economic Recovery, Mr. Abhisit said he was going to meet more than 800 of the world’s top business leaders who would head to Singapore to attend the meeting. He said the theme of the APEC CEO Summit would be about “Global Economic Recovery: Crisis and Opportunity”. The leaders of all 21 APEC member countries such as Thailand, China, Russia, Japan, and the United States would share views on economic and social issues and the business-related issues in the Asia-Pacific.

Mr. Abhisit said the meeting would focus on three main points: pushing forward integrated economic cooperation in the region, improving regional economical strength and enhancing regional communication and the creation of a sustainable development plan.
