BANGKOK, 28 September 2009 (NNT) – The Creative Economy Office will be established within six months and will be ready for integrated operation of all agencies under the Creative Economy project, according to Deputy Commerce Minister Alongkorn Ponlaboot.
As Chair of the Subcommittee on the National Creative Economy, Mr Alongkorn stated that he would discuss his plans of the office establishment for final approval from the main committee, which is chaired by Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva.
The Creative Economy Office will firstly be established in Thailand to work on the integrated operation of all governmental agencies under the Creative Economy project. The roles, duties and location of the office will be formulated again later while the establishment is expected to be completed within six months prior to earlier scheduled.
Mr Alongkorn further stated that he ask the Ministry of Finance for a supportive budget to form the Creative Economy Fund. The initial expected value of the fund of one to five billion baht is aimed to assist the liquidity of entrepreneurs participating in the project and develop businesses in both public and private sectors.
