Finance Minister is to propose Strong Thailand budgets worth over 240,000M to Cabinet

Bangkok, 12 October 2009 (NNT)-Finance Minister Korn Chatikavanij is proposing an investment of Strong Thailand Project with over 240,000 million baht into the Cabinet tomorrow, with the emphasis on transparency and accountability of the projects

The Minister of Finance revealed that the Ministry is proposing an additional budget of Strong Thailand Scheme for 240,000 million baht.

The budget is to be allocated to agricultural price guarantee program for 40,000 millions, to local administration funds 23,000 million and Creative Thailand project. Beside, the other projects will be proposed to use up 50,000 millions of the remaining treasury reserve compensation since the government income was higher than expected and the security of treasury reserve would not affect the government cash management in 2010.

The Strong Thailand accountability is to be defined with the weekly report to the Cabinet of budget disbursement and the posting of the information on the website www.tkk2555.com as well as the web page www.publicwatchtkk2555.com for people to report on corruption. The information will be screened by the Office of the Comptroller General before being referred to relevant agencies for further processes.
