BANGKOK, 12 October 2009 (NNT) –The Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT) Deputy Governor Veerapong Chaiperm, reveals that IEAT has sent an official letter to 62 entrepreneurs in Map Ta Phut Industrial Estate to explain about the Administrative Court’s halt order.
Mr. Veerapong revealed that IEAT has since 8 October sent a formal circular letter to 62 entrepreneurs in Map Ta Phut as listed in the court’s file, to officially explain the court’s curb order on the 76 projects. The letter also reported on the government’s appeal progress and the legal issues being discussed with the attorney to determine an accurate practice in the future.
On the other hand, Mr. Chainoi Puenkosum, Petroleum Refining Industry Club President said the private sector still continues to operate because there was no official notice from the government, thus it is not considered a violation particularly when there was no clarification from the concerned government agency.
As for the consideration of an individual appeal against the order, it is still under discussion among private operators. They might decide to appeal as a business group of same category.
