BANGKOK, 10 February 2010 (NNT) – Supporters of the anti-government United Front of Democracy Against Dictatorship (UDD) have gathered in front of the National Police Headquarters to ask for progress of cases related with the People’s Alliance for Democracy (PAD).
The UDD demonstrators gathered in front of the National Police Headquarters on Wednesday. The aim of the rally this time was earlier announced to press the police for progress of the cases related with the PAD, including the seizures of Government House as well as Suvarnabhumi and Don Muang International Airports in 2008.
The traffic on Rama I Road in front of the National Police Headquarters was congested, and the road then was closed due to the number of UDD protesters. The UDD have blocked the road by using trucks and forming a stage for political speeches.
Meanwhile, the police have closed the gate of its head office while about 600 police officers are stationed to prevent protestors from entering the premise.
