BANGKOK, Mar 16 (TNA) – Most Thai businesspeople disagree with the call by the Red Shirt movement to dissolve the House because it will negatively affect the overall economy, according to Thai Chamber of Commerce Deputy Secretary-General Pornsilp Patcharintanakul.
Should the House be dissolved, he said, it would take at least six months to put the economy in place because the new prime minister must take time to study the task.
Mr Pornsilp said the current government’s term remains for around one year. So, it should be allowed to work until the term is completed.
Should there be any change in the government, it would have a negative impact on the overall economy.
It could shake investors’ expectations, which would cause damages to the country, he said.
Ongoing political rallies are considered a normal phenomenon under the democratic system, but should the House be dissolved now, economic recovery could falter, Mr Pornsilp said, so he wanted to see all parties realise the seriousness of the matter. (TNA)
