UDD´s protesters leave 11th Infantry Regiment

BANGKOK, 28 March 2010 (NNT) – A group of supporters of the United Front of Democracy Against Dictatorship (UDD) has returned to the main rally site on Phan Fa Bridge from the 11th Infantry Regiment after the UDD core leaders agreed to join peace talks with the government.

Udon Thani UDD leader Kwanchai Praiphana announced to withdraw the UDD demonstrators from the barracks to wait for the negotiation results between their three key figures and the government.

Three UDD representatives included Weera Musikapong, Jatuporn Prompan, and MD Weng Tojirakarn. The representatives from the government side are now being selected by Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva himself.

The negotiation session will be arranged at the King Prajadhipok’s Institute on Chaeng Watthana Road at 16.00 hrs in a bid to end the political conflict and bring peace to the society.

The UDD has been protesting against the Democrat-led coalition government since 14 March 2010, demanding a house dissolution and fresh elections.
