BANGKOK, 26 April 2009 (NNT) – Global warming and green house gas reduction are important issues for the business sector to push forward for sustainable business development.
Managing Director of Bangchak Petroluem Anusorn Saengnimnuan stated at the annual seminar of Thailand Business Council for Sustainable Development (TBCSD) that global warming currently impact a lot to the world environment. With the aim of TBCSD, comprising 36 companies as members, to push forward sustainable development among Thai businesses, its vision was to be a lead organization in the country in reducing green house gas, a cause of global warming as much as possible.
Following its vision, three directions have been formulated including developing business to be the lowest carbon business with the objective to reduce green house gas emission by more than 7.7 million tons/year within 2012 among TBCSD members; developing business partners to be the lowest carbon partners; and to develop the society and the environment to the lowest carbon society. It also encourages youth to be aware of global warming reduction.
Mr Anusorn added that through these three directions the TBCSD would be exchanging views, experiences and recommendations in all aspects for sustainable business development with the emphasis on green house gas reduction among all parties.
