BANGKOK, 30 April 2010 (NNT) – The non-commissioned military officer killed in the clash between security forces and the United Front of Democracy Against Dictatorship on 28 April in Don Mueang area was shot by high velocity bullets, according to an autopsy committee.
Colonel Saksan Chaitaveep, a physician of the Phra Mongkut Klao Hospital, said during a press conference that the late Private Narongrit Sara was shot at the skull and brain during the violent clash at the National Memorial in Don Mueang area on Wednesday.
The confrontation between security officers and anti-government supporters broke out on Vibhavadi-Rangsit Road on 28 April as state authorities tried to block the passage of the anti-government protesters who were reportedly mobilized from the capital’s Ratchaprasong business district to Talad Thai market in Pathum Thani province. A total of one death and 19 injuries were reported during the bloody clash.
