BANGKOK, 14 May 2010 (NNT) – Army troops seize the area in front of Lumphini Stadium back from red-shirt protestors and arrest 20 of them along with army’s flak vests and shields.
At 15.30 hrs, the military officials could seize the area in front of the Lumphini Stadium back from demonstrators, after those rally-goers kept approaching the troops, shooting marbles and nails as well as throwing fire bombs into the ranks. The troops had threatened with a series of gunshots fired into the air but the demonstrators remained at the site.
The officials then move forward with tear gas and rubber bullets, so the demonstrators were pushed back to Rama IV expressway and the troops could take charge of the area. 20 protestors have been arrested with flak vests, shields and military weapons stolen since the clash on 10 April.
