Thailand goes green, launching the ‘Green Family’ event

Bangkok, 4 June 2010 (NNT) – The Pollution Control Department is now launching a series of environmental activities, in accordance to the World Environmental Day, 5 June, to raise individual awareness on the importance of natural resources.

Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, Suwit Khunkitti , stated that in relation to the World Environment Day 2010 (WED) the Royal Thai Government has prepared to organize an exhibition under the theme “Many Species, One Planet, One future” to identify how serious our environmental and natural crisis stand.

This year’s theme echoes the urgent call to conserve the diversity of life on our planet. A world without biodiversity is a very bleak prospect. Millions of people and millions of species all share the same planet, and only together we can enjoy a safer and more prosperous future.

The event will include many booths and activities of environmental products or any eco-friendly products and services; such as recycle papers, tables, electronic products, food packaging and many other products of daily use. This expo is being held during 4 – 5 June at Sapphire room 4-6, Convention Center, IMPACT: Muang Thong Thani.

To celebrate this World Environment Day (WED), individuals should carefully consider the actions each one must take, and then address themselves to the common task of preserving all life on Earth.
