BANGKOK, 3 March 2011 (NNT)-The production of palm oil for pink capped bottles has doubled the daily quota from 1 million liter to 2.5 million liter upon the Commerce Ministry’s request in a bid to tackle the shortage crisis.
Commerce Minister Pornthiva Nakasai said she wanted to make sure there is enough palm oil in the market across the country for Thai families. Pink capped bottles of palm oil are expected to be distributed throughout Thailand within 12 March 2011. Half of them will be sold through retailers while Thais can expect to buy the other half at fresh markets.
According to Ms Pornthiva, family shops or retailers that are short on palm oil supply can contact the Department of Internal Trade at 1569. The Commerce Ministry will make sure the distribution of the product reach the hand of every Thai household.
