Bangkok, 10 March 2011 – HP today announced the appointment of Monty Wong as General Manager of its Personal Systems Group (PSG) in Thailand, effective immediately.
Monty will oversee HP PSG’s business and marketing strategy across its award-winning range of consumer and commercial product portfolios, which include notebooks, desktops, workstations, thin clients, displays and accessories in Thailand.
The newly appointed General Manager will be responsible for driving greater customer focus and competitive alignment for PSG Thailand with his respective country sales & marketing functions and channel sales organizations reporting directly to him. The latter manages HP’s relationships with channel partners serving Enterprise and SMB customers.
Monty will report to Dennis Mark, Vice President and General Manager, HP PSG South East Asia and Taiwan.
“Monty is a perfect fit to lead the HP PSG business in Thailand,” commented Dennis. “With his strong leadership capabilities and long track record of results, we are confident that he will drive growth and profitability in this fast growing market within the region for HP.”
Having joined the company in 1992, Monty is an HP veteran who most recently served as General Manager for PSG Taiwan. During his tenure, he developed and executed aggressive business development plans to significantly grow HP’s revenue and streamline funnel management processes.
Monty has also held several senior sales and marketing positions for PSG, HP Asia Pacific & Japan. His previous roles include HP Technical Manager, Category Director for the Business PC division, and Product Category Director for HP South East Asia & Taiwan.
Monty graduated from Portsmouth University (UK) with a Technology Management degree and has received his Executive MBA degree from The State University of New York. In 2008, Monty received the prestigious HP Winners Summit Award.
