Mitsubishi sold 6,635 units or up 91% in June

– introduces special model of Triton Double Cab Plus.

 

Pathumthani – 5 July 2011: Mitsubishi Motors Thailand reports sales result in June that is higher than six thousand for 2 consecutive months.  Lancer Ex has the highest growth at 206%.  The company is going to introduce special model of Triton Double Cab Plus “White Pearl” M/T which will be available in diesel, benzene and CNG engine. 

 

Mr. Nobuyuki Murahashi, President of Mitsubishi Motors (Thailand) Company Limited (MMTh) reported Mitsubishi sales volume in June total 6,635 units, an increase of 91% compared to the same period of last year which hit six thousand units  for 2 consecutive months after achieved 6,922 units in previous month. The new Lancer EX has a significant grew up and highest record since launching with 473 units or  206% growth while Trion achieved 3,976 units, grew by 107% year on year,  Pajero Sport 1,796 units, grew by 112% while and Lancer 1.6 L and  Space Wagon sales were down 22 % to 334 units and 35% to 91 units respectively. As a result, MMTh can reach 34,428 units in the first half of this year or growing by 107% compared to the same period of last year.

 

“MMTh has a good performance in June with the continue growth, especially for a new Lancer EX that grew more than 200% as a result from last minor change that we’ve made it is more valuable by adding various options that cope customer demand.  Currently, some models of Lancer EX still have back orders which are expected to be delivered to the customers as soon as possible. For the overall market, in the 1st quarter of this year sales grew 40% to 238,619 units from 166,802 units in the previous year, while the 2nd quarter, although it has been affected by the earthquake and tsunami in Japan, but overall sales are still growing. In fact, the total demand was not reduced but several carmakers cannot produce and deliver the car on schedule, that’s why I’m confident that the situation of Thai Auto Industry in the 2nd half of this year will be improved and become lively again and hope that the total sales this year will be around 850,000 – 900,000 units, certainly.” Mr. Murahashi said.

Mr. Murahashi also adds about marketing plan in the 2^nd half of this year that MMTh eyes to maintain the same figure of 6,000 units in each month by supporting dealers operation in all area such as establishing product confidence among dealers and salesmen together with improving after sales service besides arranging below the line activity especially roadshow in up country. In term of new product, the company is going to introduce special model of Mitsubishi Triton Double Cab Plus M/T “White Pearl” in this July to be a choice for customers. The special model comes with special equipments namely Chrome headlamp bezel, color key front fog lamps hole cover and color key side protector moldings. Coming with the sedan-like interior engenders a sense of comfort with built-in 7″ wide screen monitor with IMT system and new radio DVD player as the standard equipment, the special model has silver decoration, leather wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, leather and synthetic leather seats with black stitch and synthetic leather covered floor console lid and also provides maximum safety. The new special models come with manual transmission and 3 engine style including diesel 2.5 VG turbo 178 hp, benzene 2.4 L  that is compatible with benzene up to Gasohol E20 and CNG model which is compatible with 2 types of fuel; benzene up to Gasohol E20 and CNG, to respond all customers need.
