‘Tonkla Archeep’ is the government’s project aiming to increase workers’ efficiency by providing vocational training to unemployed workers, those facing layoff and fresh graduates. The project is also providing knowledge and skills in a particular competence in various careers to the target group in order to enable them to return development to their hometown.
Under the MOU, Mr Korbsak said around 200 entrepreneurs will join the government to carry out the policy to prevent further job losses. In this connection, the government would allocate a 500-million-baht budget to finance the policy for at least a year in order to prevent private sector to lay off their employees.
The MOU, scheduled to be signed on 9 July, is not the first pact as the government has earlier signed it before with the budget of 81 million baht. As for Tonkla Archeep project, Mr. Korbsak said around 50,000-80,000 would partake in the project to receive vocational training.
