Every Thai-based Japanese motor company has decided to suspend their production lines after their factories have been severely hit by the deluge. The suspension takes effect today, said NHK Broadcasting Corporation.
According to NHK, Mitsubishi Fuso Truck & Bus Corporation, a giant truck maker located in the flood-ravaged industrial estate in Northern Bangkok, suspended its production yesterday in light of threats of floods. Two other Japanese automakers had also suspended their production lines earlier.
While Mitsubishi Motors and Honda said they would suspend their production lines until this Friday; the former due to its lack of parts supplies, the latter on account of inundation, Isuzu is scheduled to suspend its production until tomorrow; Nissan until Friday next week. Toyota, Mazda and Hino will also suspend their operations until this Friday. .
, Whether these automakers will extend the duration of their production or when they will resume their normal operation remain unclear, added NHK.
