BANGKOK, 8 July 2009 (NNT) – The Public Health Ministry announced that a university student in the southern province of Phuket and a Bangkok resident infected with the influenza A (H1N1) had passed away, raising the death toll to 11.
Public Health Minister Witthaya Kaewparadai reported an additional 290 A (H1N1) infections within today, which pushed up the accumulated number of flu-infected patients in the country to 2,718. The minister indicated that two more deaths from the A (H1N1) flu had also been confirmed, bringing the current death toll up to 11.
Mr Witthaya said the first of the two victims was a university student in Phuket, and another was a 21-year-old female patient in Bangkok, who was earlier admitted into hospital after experiencing thyroid disease.
