THAI Launches First Biofuels Flight in South-East Asia

Mr. Piyasvasti Amranand (7th from left), President of Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI), chaired the press conference that officially launched flight TG8421, “THAI First Flight with Biofuels”.

 

THAI is the first airline in Thailand and South-East Asia to operate a flight using biofuels, in order to boost awareness and support use of aviation biofuels, based on the Company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy that focuses on “Travel Green”.  THAI hopes that its support and participation in using biofuels will encourage other carriers to choose biofuels renewable energy over fossil fuels.  This pilot biofuels flight was led by Sqn. Ldr. Alongot Pullsuk (5th from left), Vice President of Aviation Resources Development, carrying members of the press and representatives from organizations and government functions that support the biofuels project, such as PTT Public Company Limited, Aeronautical Radio of Thailand Limited, Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited, Bangkok Aviation Fuel Services, Rolls Royce, and Boeing.
