HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn greatly interested in solar eclipse

SHANGHAI, 22 July 2009 (NNT) – Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn has shown great interest in today’s solar eclipse. She traveled to Shanghai to view the event.

A lecturer from Chulalongkorn University, Associate Professor Boonraksa Sunthorntham, reported from Shanghai, China, via FM 99.5 radio station that HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn showed a lot of interest in the solar eclipse which occurred throughout the morning. A small group of Thai academics traveled to Shanghai to study the event, which was also partially visible over Thailand earlier today. HRH took pictures of the event.

The professor stated that the eclipse was very clear over the Chinese sky and that both Chinese and Thai spectators gathered to view it.

The next solar eclipse visible in Thailand will take place on 15 January 2010.
