Cabinet extends holidays in Bangkok to the end of the week

BANGKOK, 18 May 2010 (NNT) – The Cabinet on Tuesday decided to make 19-21 May 2010 more official holidays in Bangkok.

The extension of the holidays is aimed at facilitating operations of security officers to restore peace and order within the kingdom as well as protecting people from negative impacts from the current unrest in the capital.

Earlier, the government announced 17 and 18 May 2010 as official holidays in Bangkok due to the same reason.

The cabinet’s meeting was today presided over by Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva and held at the 11th Infantry Regiment.
