BANGKOK, 21 August 2009 (NNT) – The Chart Thai Pattana party said it would support an amnesty bill drafted by its fellow coalition party Bhumjaithai if the law had no hidden agenda.
Chart Thai Pattana Spokesman Wachara Kannikar said his party thought the amnesty bill would be useful for the creation of reconciliation in the country. He therefore suggested the Bhumjaithai party clarify the necessity of the bill to other coalition parties to seek for their supports.
Regarding opposition to the amnesty bill from many groups, Mr Wachara said they opposed the law since they were unsure whether the Bhumjaithai party really wanted to help them and they were afraid that they might be duped by the party.
