PHETCHABURI, 20 October 2009 (NNT) – Interior Minister and Bhumjaithai Party Leader, Chavarat Charnvirakul, has stressed the necessity of revising the 2007 Constitution in the topics that should be amended for the sake of the nation.
Prior to attending the mobile cabinet’s meeting on Tuesday in the western province of Phetchaburi, Mr Chavarat insisted in the stance of his coalition Bhumjaithai Party to amend the constitution in the appropriate agendas. He said his party did not consider who proposed the issue but would do the best for the country.
Earlier, news reported that some members of the ruling Democrat Party had collected signatures to oust Mr Suthep from his position of party secretary-general due to rifts in charter revision issue. The news was then dismissed by the Minister to the Prime Minister’s Office, Satit Wonghnongtaey, one of the Democrat core figures.
