Coca-Cola Amatil Expands Production and Distribution Capacity in Sumatera, Adds USD 30 million Investment
– Coca-Cola Amatil (CCA) invests USD 30 million into its Sumatera operations.
– Investment includes new blowfill line and 11,000 sqm Regional Distribution Centre
Medan, Indonesia, Sept 26, 2013 – (ACN Newswire) – Beverage company Coca-Cola Amatil Indonesia unveils the instalment of new multi-beverage blowfill line and a 11,000 sqm Regional Distribution Centre in their Medan plant today, adding USD 30 million investment into its Sumatera operations.

 

“It’s part of investing back into the business as a whole,” Stuart Comino, Acting President Director of CCAI said, “Our business in Indonesia continues to expand, with volumes and earnings growing 15 per cent this year as we roll out more coolers in the market. This expansion will improve our production and logistic capability, and elevate our service levels so we can continue to deliver excellent service to all beverage customers in Indonesia.”

The 50.000 sqm Medan Plant houses a total of 4 production lines, with production capacity up to nearly 30,000 cases per day. Medan is CCAI’s second plant to house a Regional DC. Its larger counterpart in Cibitung-Bekasi has started operating early this year, and the company plans to build another one in Semarang due for completion in July 2014.

“Regional Distribution Centres will enable us to consolidate all our production and distribution volumes into one site. It will provide us time-efficiency, help us deliver on our goal to develop the most efficient and customer-centric fast moving consumer goods chain in the country,’ explained Mr. Comino.

Other than the new line and distribution centre, the office areas have also been given a makeover, continuing the company’s commitment to promote a better and safer workplace environment. The company currently employs over 1,000 employees for its Sumatera operations.
