Colorful Phuket Countdown 2010 to kick off

BANGKOK, 23 December 2009 (NNT) — Phuket will host “Colorful Phuket Countdown 2010”, a celebration to start the New Year.

Visitors can enjoy great local seafood and international food, and shows such as the local southern “ligahooloo” dance, which is the South’s signature performance that portrays the customs of traditional Thai ceremonies.

Other events include the B-Boy Dance competition, traditional pattern design competition, and musical performances of symphony jazz rock reggae by leading bands and local Thai artists.

The Colorful Phuket Countdown 2010 is held at the Surin Monument on 25-31 December 2009 from 18.30 – 24.00 hrs.

Phuket province is located in the South of Thailand, off the west coast of the Andaman Sea. It is popular for its white sandy beaches, clear waters and coral reefs. Patong beach is recognized for variation of water activities and sports during the day, and its vibrant nightlife.
