BANGKOK, 3 May 2010 (NNT) – Domestic diesel price is expected to rise within these one to two days following an increase of crude oil price in the Singapore market last Friday, according to energy expert Manoon Siriwan.
The energy expert expected that the retail price of diesel in Thailand would increase very soon after the marketing margin has gone down to only 90 satang/liter while crude oil price at Singapore has increased by almost 2 USD/barrel last Friday.
Diesel price will be over 30 THB/liter immediately if the price is increased in Thailand. Diesel price at present is about 29.89 THB/liter.
As for benzene price of 37.64 THB now, Mr Manoon believed that the price would not be increased at present as the marketing margin is about 1 THB/liter. However, he admitted that the price might rise to about 38 THB/liter by the end of this May following the rising demand in Europe during the summer.
