Energy Ministry is arranging GDP plan for power plant construction

Bangkok, 30 October 2009 (NNT) – The Energy Ministry is arranging the economic conditions strategy, referred to as GDP in constructing the power plant to avoid overcharging consumers.

Dr. Wannarat Channukun, the Minister of Energy revealed the setting of an energy subcommittee to arrange the GDP plan, with the cooperation of the social development and human security board, to get ready on the increase of power production in 15 years from 30,000 to 50,000 megawatts.

As the economic constraints are the main factor to the cost variable, the GDP plan is being arranged to avoid overcharging consumers.

The Minister of Energy has added that Thailand has prepared the nuclear power plant project based mainly on its worthiness, safety and acceptance by the people.
