Four panda’s names for vote

BANGKOK, 15 June 2009 (NNT) – Four panda’s names have been selected, and people can send postcards for voting during June 19 to August 5.

Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, Suwit Khunkitti, as Chairman of the Committee on Panda’s Names Selection said that after the Zoological Park Organization Under His Majesty the King’s Royal Patronage had allowed people to send names for giving to the new born panda, more than 560,000 names have been nominated.

30 judges from several sectors had voted for four names, which would be printed on the special edition postcards for voting. These four names included Khuan Thai, Lin Ping, Thai Jeen, and Ying Ying.

People can vote only for one name by sending the special edition postcards, which will be sold on June 19 until August 5, 2009. The postcards will cost five baht each. The name receiving the most votes will be the little panda’s name, while people who vote for this name would receive prizes by lucky draw.
