BANGKOK, 25 June 2010 (NNT) – Thailand’s food exports this year are projected to expand by 10%, with a total export value of 82 billion THB, according to the Food Industrial Group of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI).
FTI Vice Chairperson, Visit Limprana, predicted that food exports this year would grow by at least 10%, and be valued at 82 billion THB, if the Thai Baht remains stable at about 32 THB/USD. The value of food exports in 2009 stood at 78 billion THB.
The vice chairperson elaborated that many Thai food products could enjoy large export quantities at good prices such as sugar and tapioca, as well as processed shrimp and chicken.
Thailand still has strong potentials in the export sector, as it has been ranked second in Asia after China and the world number 12.
