BANGKOK, 29 December 2009 (NNT) – The Ministry of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is going to launch a satellite television broadcasting information technology news, to begin in February 2010 via www.ictnetwork.tv.
ICT Minister Second Lt Ranongruk Suwunchwee said the ministry has cooperated with CAT Telecom Plc, TOT Plc, and the Software Industry Promotion Agency (SIPA), in launching the first online TV channel concentrating on ICT information.
Mr Jirayuth Rungsrithong, Managing Director of CAT Telecom, stated that the company was primarily assigned to set up the 24-hour network in response to the ministry’s policy which aims to promote ICT news and knowledge. A 30 million THB budget has been allocated for equipment and networking to be installed by CAT while TOT is in charge of seeking sites of transmitters. SIPA is responsible for the program content.
The program pattern and schedule is expected to be concluded by January 2010 and broadcast for the first time on 14 February 2010 on the website.
