BANGKOK, 19 April 2010 (NNT) – Investments in the industrial sector of Thailand have so far been unaffected by the mass demonstration of the United Front of Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) protestors, according to Industry Minister and Puea Pandin party leader Chanchai Chairungruang.
Mr Chanchai stated that investors have still shown strong confidence in Thailand and affirmed their continued investment despite the growing political row. He added that the industrial sector will not be affected as long as the main airport and all transportation channels are not blockaded.
Mr Chanchai reiterated that the protestors have the rights to show their political ideas while any movement to impeach the prime minister or cabinet members should be made through the parliamentary process. In his opinion, the rally of the UDD protestors will be prolonged due to a huge number of participating protestors.
Mr Chanchai added that Puea Pandin party holds a neutral policy underlining the national reconciliation. He then asked everyone to respect the law in order to bring peace to the nation.
