BANGKOK, 17 June 2010 (NNT) — Kasikorn Bank (KBank) in cooperation with the Thai Chamber of Commerce has launched a new service that will help issue an automated certificate of origin (C/O) for exporters.
Managing Director of KBank Prasan Trairatvorakul said that the service will help exporters handle big bulks of documentation and payments without having to travel to the local chamber of commerce. The service, called C/O Auto transfer, will issue a certificate of origin and enable online payments. The service will increase efficiency, speed and accuracy of documentation, as information will stored in an automated system, Mr Prasan said.
The Certificate of origin is used in international trade that identifies the goods have originated and are produced from the mentioned country, usually administered by the local chamber of commerce.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce and Board of Trade, Dusit Nontanakorn said that currently, growth in the export sector is a result of the rebounding economy. Exports is the main engine that propels the Thai economy, inciting employment and national income, Mr Dusit said. The Thai chamber of commerce chairman added that improvements in the export sector will help increase Thailand’s abilities and competitive potential.
