KBank gains THB4.36 bn in net profit in Q1/2010

BANGKOK, 20 April 2010 (NNT) – Kasikorn Thai Bank reveals the company’s turnover of Q1/2010 with a net profit of 4.36 billion THB , a rise in loan release by 2.04% and the non-interest earning income growing continuously.

Kasikorn Thai Managing Director Prasan Trairatvorakul cited that the company could gain 4.36 billion THB net profit before due diligence in Q1/2010, or a rise of 18.99% compared with the turnover obtained in Q4/2009 at 3.66 million THB. He said that the income earned from non-interest businesses was continuously thriving including the income from the premium collected from investing in the Muang Thai Insuarance Co Ltd. Excluding the financial statement of Muang Thai Group Holding Col Ltd, the income from non-interest businesses had accrued by 1.34 billion THB or 23.62% year-on-year. The Bank and its subsidiaries could maintain the net interest margin or NIM at the level of 3.66% , close to Q4/2009 at 3.68%.

As of 31 March 2010, the bank and subsidiaries have a total asset of 1.422 trillion THB, up from the end of 2009 by 63.75 billion THB or 4.69%. The volume of loans is 962.64 billion THB, up from last year-end by 2.04% with the total deposit of 1.007 trillion THB, increase from the end of 2009 by 3.33%.
