BANGKOK, 16 February 2010 (NNT) – The Kenyan Prime Minister has praised Thailand for her rapid development and wished to see more trade and investment between the two countries.
The Rt. Hon. Raila Amollo Odinga, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kenya, told Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva during their meeting in Bangkok on Monday that both governments should encourage greater communication and contacts between respective peoples to pave way for more trade and investment. Mr Odinga also confirmed a close bilateral relationship.
The Kenyan Prime Minister is visiting Thailand as a guest of the Thai Government ahead of the Thai-Kenyan Joint Committee’s meeting to be held in Nairobi, Kenya during 8-9 March 2010.
Prime Minister Abhisit, on his part, thanked the Kenyan Government for hosting the first JC meeting between the two countries. The meeting will discuss ways to upgrade the level of bilateral collaboration. Mr Abhisit said the Thai government was willing to support technical cooperation and the Thai business sector’s investment in Kenya. The Kenyan Prime Minister also stated that his government had attached much importance to Asia and would promote trade, investment, and tourism to the region while welcoming investments from abroad.
