BANGKOK, 25 January 2010 (NNT) – Krung Thai Bank set the target to expand customer base in the private sector to cover 1,000 companies, through the Bill Payment service, along with the credit release of 35 billion THB.
Dr.Anuchit Anuchitanukul, First Executive Vice President, Managing Director, Product and Marketing Management Group, Krung Thai Bank PCL stated after the agreement signed with Honda Leasing Thailand in Bill Payment service, that there were 2,500 organizations using Bill Payment through the bank at present. Last year the volume of Bill Payment was around 22 million items via Krung Thai Bank’s service. Thus, this year’s plan was to extend more customers in the private sector for 1,000 companies. He expected that in the first quarter there would be 250 more companies in the service, and the growth rate was expected to be over 30%.
Dr Anuchit added that the Bank targeted the loan released this year at 35 billion THB, particularly in personal loans. The growth rate was expected to be better than last year with the economic improvement, and consumers’ confidence. He believed that if there were no violence in politics, the economy in Q1 and Q2 this year would continuously grow .
