BANGKOK, 17 February 2010 (NNT) – The Center for the Promotion of National Strength on Moral Ethics and Values (Moral Center) cooperated with 7 sectors to promote moral ethics in a bid to strengthen the government’s creative economy.
The Moral Center under the Office of Knowledge Management and Development (OKMD) will hold the National Moral Assembly 2010 to the theme of honesty, responsibility and sufficiency.
Dr. Poldej Pinprateep, President of the National Moral Assembly 2010, said that the center was not seeking a new thing of the society, but looking for 7 communities of practice from bureaucrat, politician, education, community, business, religion and mass media.
These 7 sectors have been directed to brainstorm and synthesize knowledge. Each sector will create the mutual declaration on moral ethics, ethics promotion plan and strategy, and a policy proposal for the national administrators to consider.
OKMD’s President Adm Thanit Kittiampon said that the society has been short of moral ethics such as responsibility and honesty which are important particularly in the work place.
He emphasized that the moral ethics could improve in line with the growth of creative economy. If a business operator lacks a sense of honesty, the company will be automatically forced out of the business under social pressure.
