The Thai Bankers’ Association President Mr. Chartsiri Sophonpanich said the Association would try to encourage all banks to resume their services after the flood while maintaining that the scale of damage from floods could not be estimated yet.
The President added that banks would be opened in the areas with receding flood waters; however, if they can’t open for services; bank executives will coordinate with other branches to try to get the service in operation for the people.
Mr. Chartsiri said the damage could not be estimated for the time being; however, the bank will continue to care for the financial situation of flood victims. 277 banks have now resumed their services while 2,500 ATM machines have been severely damaged in the inundation.
