BANGKOK, 27 May 2011 (NNT) – The Pheu Thai Party is reportedly considering a plan to persuade the Chart Thai Pattana and the Chart Pattana Puea Pandin Parties to establish the new government together should it win the election.
Former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra’s legal advisor Noppadon Pattama revealed that if the Pheu Thai Party claimed victory in the general election on 3 July, there was a possibility for it to join forces with Chart Thai Pattana and Chart Pattana Puea Pandin in the formation of the new coalition government. However, he ruled out the idea to work with either the Democrat or the Bhumjaithai Parties.
The revelation was made despite the Chart Thai Pattana Party’s recent confirmation to uphold its vow to be on the same side as Bhumjaithai regardless of the election result.
In response to a criticism by Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva that Pheu Thai had been unclear about its premier candidate, Mr Noppadon reaffirmed that Ms Yingluck Shinawatra had already been chosen by the party but the current confusion might have stemmed from certain individuals’ assumption.
