BANGKOK, 14 November 2009 (NNT) – Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva discussed the region’s facilitation on trade and investment opportunities with APEC leaders and the APEC business counselor at the 17th APEC CEO Summit.
At 16.00 hrs Singapore time, the Prime Minister teamed up with the Sultan of Brunei, the Canadian Prime Minister as well as the Chinese Prime Minister to discuss ASEAN’s facilitation of trade and investment. Tax reduction was also discussed to urge tax reductions in industrialized countries within next year and in developing countries within the next 11 years.
This year, the APEC CEO Summit 2009 is being held from 14 to 15 November 2009. The two-day CEO Summit focuses on addressing the economic crisis and key global issues, including the preparation for the recovery of the global economy, strengthening corporate governance, harnessing the economics of climate change, leveraging on the power of sovereign wealth funds and multilateral institutions as well as discussing the future global economic landscape.
