PM to be on duty in Songkhla today

SONGKHLA, 2 August 2009 (NNT) – Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva is scheduled to visit the southern province of Songkhla to observe the Community Welfare Organization project and preside over the “Halal World and Cultural Relation” exhibition.

At 11.40 a.m., the Prime Minister will pay an observation at the Community Welfare Organization in Songkhla. The project is under the government’s “Strong Thailand” scheme. As the first mission of his trip, Mr. Abhisit will grant a certificate guaranteeing the organization’s status as the agency for community welfare and public interest. He will also present the government’s policy to support the community welfare to the people at Prince of Songkhla University.

The Prime Minister will also be briefed on the nature of community welfare promotion in the province and visit the community welfare fund at Tambon Khao Prah, Rattabhumi district. Mr. Abhisit will then chair the grand opening of the Hat Yai Agricultural Cooperative Office and preside over the opening ceremony of the “Halal World and Cultural Relation” exhibition at Songkhla Central Masjid before returning to Bangkok at about 08.00 p.m.
