PMU Faculty Attends International Conference on Smart Grid Communications

Al-Khobar | Kingdom of Saudi Arabia: A female faculty member from the College of Computer Engineering & Sciences in the Prince Mohammad bin Fahd University (PMU), Dr. Dilek Dustegor attended IEEE International Conference on Smart Grid Communications, IEEE SmartGridComm 2011, the 2^nd Annual Event held in Brussels, Belgium recently.

 

She presented a research paper entitled, “A Distributed Fault Protection Method for Power Grid with High Penetration of Renewable Energy Sources” in the conference. This paper was published in the Conference proceedings later.

 

This researcher also participated in the next series of the conference, IEEE Innovative Smart Grid Technologies Conference for Middle East held in Jeddah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This was the first ever conference of such kind in the Kingdom.

 

Research of this PMU faculty member describes the findings and results on the detection of the faults and protection issues of SmartGrid.

 

The next series of IEEE SmartGridComm 2012 Conference would be held in the Tainan City in Taiwan by the end of this year.
