Al-Khobar | Kingdom of Saudi Arabia: Windy and dusty weather couldn’t hinder 6,000 runners of the 17th Annual Khobar Charity Run at Al-Khobar Corniche recently. One of its key participants Prince Mohammad bin Fahd University (PMU) encouraged its students, staffs and faculty members to run.
PMU runners left impeccable impact in this annual run which promotes charity especially endorsing the organ donation activities. PMU 5k runner participants showed solidarity to run for this noble cause.
This occasion showcased mingling of the cultures as runners represented the Saudi citizens and various expatriate communities. Representing different age groups, they braved to run even in an unfavourable weather condition.
Local businessman and philanthropist, Mr. Abdul Aziz Al-Turki was the key organizer of this run to uphold a pioneering charity idea.
PMU participation and eagerness of its runners indicate that this university takes initiatives beyond the academic pursuits.
This participation is also a sign that PMU has keen approach to guide communities to value the humane relationships.
“Our university motivates us to participate in such extracurricular activities for overall grooming,” said excited student runners Mohammad Saoud El-Nekhiln and Mohammad Tayyara.
Participation of PMU runners is historic because they shared a platform with the industry bigwigs in this charity mission—runners from the leading companies and civic institutions from Eastern Province.
Runners from the Municipality, Saudi Aramco, Ministry of Education, Rawabi Holding, Rashed Al-Rashed and Sons Group, Banque Saudi Fransi, ATCO Group, Pan Gulf Holding, Nesma Trading, SGB Dabal, Baas International Group, Namma Carg and Al-Khodari besides PMU made it a successful event.
