BANGKOK, 4 February 2010 (NNT) – The private sector is satisfied with the government’s progress in solving the Map Ta Phut problem while involved companies are waiting for the adjudication of the appeal recently filed to the Administrative Court.
Vice President of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), Mr Payungsak Chartsutipol, said he was confident in the government’s approach in solving the Map Ta Phut case. The authority has proceeded according to the private sector’s suggestion, tasking the Attorney General as the representative to file the appeal.
Meanwhile, the concerned projects are being categorized according to environmental evaluation as ordered by the Central Administrative Court. However, he believed the impact will be minimized if the problem is quickly unfrozen.
The Map Ta Phut case is not a problem of a particular group but of the entire nation, Mr Payungsak remarked.
