BANGKOK, 26 April 2010 (NNT) – The Senate has agreed to endorse the frequency allocation bill concerning the establishment of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC).
By the majority vote of 92:2 and one abstention, the Senate gave a green light to the frequency allocation bill after a 3-hour debate. The Senate also approved the establishment of a 35-member committee in charge of reviewing the bill within seven days.
After the endorsement by the House of Representatives on 29 March 2010, the Senate was required to deliberate the frequency allocation bill within 30 days.
