Seven out of the ten cabinet members grilled in last week’s

BANGKOK, 21 March 2011 (NNT) – Seven out of the ten cabinet members grilled in last week’s no-confidence debate are found disappointing, according to a recent survey by Suan Dusit Poll of Suan Dusit Rajabhat University.

The survey was conducted with 1,049 respondents in Bangkok and vicinities on 19 March 2011. The respondents were asked to rate their satisfaction for the grilled cabinet members and opposition debaters in the censure debate arranged from 15 to 18 March 2011.

The respondents gave the Prime Minister and two ministers a pass. Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva earned 5.81 points out of 10, followed by Finance Minister Korn Chatikavanij, 5.21 points and Prime Minister’s Office Minister Ongart Klampaiboon, 5.04 points.

Earning lower than 5 are Information and Communication Technology Minister Chuti Krairiksh with 4.95 points, Deputy Prime Minister for Security Affairs Suthep Thaugsuban with 4.89 points, Commerce Minister Pornthiva Nakasai with 4.77 points and Foreign Minister with 4.77 points.

The last three of the censured ministers are all from coalition Bhumjaithai Party, including Interior Minister Chavarat Charnvirakul with 4.70 points, Deputy Agriculture and Cooperatives Minister Supachai Phosu with 4.64 points and Transport Minister Sopon Zarum with 4.52 points.

As for top debaters on the opposition’s side, Police Captain Chalerm Yubumrung is in the lead with 6.42 points, followed by Pheu Thai MPs Mingkwan Saengsuwan, Jatuporn Prompan, Police Lieutenant Chaowarin Latthasaksiri and Titima Chaisang with 6.20, 6.17, 6.09 and 6.06 points respectively.
