Shell gears up to sell biofuel oil to promote alternative energy use

BANGKOK, 24 March 2010 (NNT) – The Shell Company of Thailand Ltd gears up to sell biofuel oil, aiming to stimulate sale and promoting alternative energy among the people after a survey found the use of bio diesel rose by as much as 70%.

Company Board Director Ms Pisawan Atchanapornkul stated that as 99% of vehicles on the road could use gasohol, the company had accordingly launched a new product named V-power gasohol 95 which was a premium grade of biofuel oil. She said Thailand was the first country to launch this kind of product.

Its price is lower than benzene 91 and 95 by 0.70 and 6.70 THB/liter respectively, and higher than gasohol by 2.90 THB/liter. The product has been on sale upcountry this March and will be distributed nationwide within May. She said this was another option for consumers hoping to use alternative energy.
